Ruiyun Mountain Tourist Area is a national AAAA grade scenic area located in Chengda Town which is to the northwest of Sanming City. The tourist area is 14 kilometers away from the downtown Sanming. It covers an area of 10 square kilometers with a highest altitude of 1249.8 meters. It combines unique volcano rock landform and variety of evergreen broad-leaf forest landscape. The major scenic spots include Ruiyun Cave, Bat Cave, Gold Cave and Longevity Spring, etc.

 

Ruiyun Cave is 30 meters in length, 60 meters in width and over 4 meters in height. The cave is like a lion opening its mouth wide. The wall at the cave’s opening is like being cut with knife. There are several stone carvings inside the cave. The scenic area is covered with green trees, boasting 192 types of plants belonged to 31 families. The towering trees are wreathed with ancient vines, like dragon flying and dancing in the mountain, which is a big feature of this scenic area.
