Longqishan Nature Reserve is a national nature reserve located in the border between Jiangle County and Mingxi County in the northwestern part of Fujian Province. The nature reserve covers an area of 63.85 square kilometers and its main peak boasts 1624 meters, which is the highest peak in Jiangle County.

 

Boasting approximately 60,000 mu primitive forest, Longqishan Nature Reserve is a rare natural botanical garden with unique characteristics in China. There are 7 vegetation types, 24 associations, more than 130 families, and nearly 300 tree species. Longqishan Nature Reserve is also an animal kingdom where there are more than one hundred types of rare animals including tiger, leopard, bear, monkey, antelope, flying fox and giant salamander and as well as a great variety of birds.
